Our Big Boy

 Our big boy is ONE!!!  So hard to believe.  He truly is getting so big.  He finally got a big boy hair cut too, which makes him look even older.  Hes not my little baby anymore :(  Thats ok, he is turning to a sweet little man!  Enjoy his sweet little birthday photo shoot!

We do have to add though, that sometimes being ONE is hard!  

Xander is 1!!!

It is crazy to believe that our sweet little boy is already 1!!!  I've said that time is going much too quickly all year, but now it just seems ridiculous!  We are so proud and in love with our sweet little boy.  He brings such joy to our lives and our home.  His smile and laugh are completely contagious   He is quick to play, to smile and to snuggle.  He is simply, a true blessing.  

Because our big boy is one, we had to go all out for his party.... cars style!

 Family and dear friends came to show Xander how to party it up.  One recommendation from a sweet friend was to have those that gave the gift, help Xander open it.  I loved the idea, so our guests got to help Xander with his presents.  

Unfortunately, Xander had other ideas for his big day, like skipping out on his nap, so he wasnt his normal cheerful self.  He was good for a few presents, but eventually became too overwhelming. 

A bottle helped to bring him back to happy for a moment.  We thought our little chunker would love the taste of cake.  He never really got the chance, because he couldnt stand the feeling of the icing on his hands.  Poor little guy didnt quite get to SMASH his cake like I had planned, but he is still a cute little bug, even if he is cranky.

Well it was his party and he could cry if he wants to.... so he did!  Once he had a nap, he enjoyed all his new toys.  His birthday came and went with a BANG!  Sweet little boy, here is to another beautiful year!

Our little man is just getting so big, it is crazy!  He now has a big boy hair cut, and a big boy room (later post).  He is the big brother and I am very sad that he does not want to the baby anymore!  He almost always refuses to allow us to feed him baby food.  He wants to feed himself and his favorite food is PB&J.  He does not want to be rocked to sleep anymore and prefers to be put in bed and he will sing himself to sleep.   He is not quite walking but once he decides that that is what he wants to do, it will happen within a matter of days. He crawls and climbs everywhere he wants to go, and is incredibly mischievous   He likes to get into things he knows are off limits and watches you while he does it to get a reaction.  

He is very much a little teaser and has the sweetest little personality.  His laugh and smile are completely contagious and he is a big flirt when he is not feeling shy.  He has just entered into the stranger danger phase so he hates if daddy specifically is out of his sight.  He will go to family and friends but only on his terms, and he does not like to be made to do anything against his will.

He is still a very sweet and sensitive little boy.  He does not like to be told "no" or scolded, it just breaks his little heart.  He is very loving to Zane and is getting much better about being soft to Zeus.  He loves touch and affection and will regularly crawl over just to touch for a moment and then returns to his play.  

He is such a blessing to us and we are so glad to have him in our family.  He is already an amazing little boy and we cant wait to see the amazing young man he turns into (just not too quickly!)
