Happy Easter 2013!

Happy Easter to everyone!  We are so grateful for the birth and sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ who atoned for our sins so that we might have a chance to repent and live again some day with our Father in Heaven as an Eternal Family.  Our Family is by far the most important thing to us.  We couldnt be more grateful for our angels in heaven and our little sweeties in our home!  Holidays have so much more joy now that we have children (even if they dont know the difference from one day to the next).  It is fun to see their faces light up as the experience and explore new things.  Easter is one of those special times.  While we recognize the true meaning of Easter and its importance in our lives, (And enjoyed the Easter Sunday wrestle getting and keeping two little rug rats dressed all spiffy and staying quiet for 3 hours of church), I couldnt resist getting the boys Easter baskets and bringing some of the holiday fun to our home.  Last year, Xander was barely over a month old and while we did still do something for him for Easter, this year was a bit more fun!

This year, the Easter bunny had a bit of help from Xander's birth grandparents.  We are so very grateful for their involvement in our lives and their generosity to not just Xander but also to Zane.  It means a great deal!

Xander wasnt quite sure what to make of the mess of Easter, but soon he started exploring and found the eggs.

And then he started dumping the Easter basket (something he is pro at with his toy boxes).
Zane was patient ;P and let us show him all the Easter bunny brought.

He got some new noisemakers and teethers since he is teething like crazy right now!

This pic is so cute.  We handed him this dunk and he just held on and then posed.  Love this kid!
Xander loved his soft fluffy bunny too... especially when it started to tickle him (with daddy's help of course)
Xander also got a new bath toy, a ducky that floats and sings (this kid should be in heaven in the tub).  And yet again, the dog photo bombed!  lol... Zeus is amazing at that.  You think he needs more attention? or just more camera time?
Xander also got some new Easter movies from his birth Grandparents.  He loves snoopy so the Easter beagle Charlie Brown movie is sure to be a hit!

And now Zane found his eggs too.  P.S. dont tell the kids, but there are baby friendly Easter treats inside.  oh, yes!  The Easter bunny is that good!
And once Xander had cleaned out his basket of goodies and toys.  He found the grass.  It was pretty entertaining to see his reactions.  He is very texture sensitive and at first he really wasnt quite sure what to make of it.  Within a few minutes, he was exploring and dumping it everywhere.  I am certain we will be cleaning up grass for weeks to come!

Happy Easter everyone!  We hope that your Easter is filled with as much joy and love as ours was!  XOXO

The green eyed monster

Both our boys have beautiful blue eyes (so far), but the green eyed monster still occasionally rears its ugly head around here.  I fully expect it to show up more often once the boys get older, but it is amazing to me how young it can appear.

Ok, so I must explain why my Dad is torturing my children ;).  My father loves musical, and especially loves musicals.  He has always been involved in theater and it is something he really enjoys.  In generally he is a pretty good singer (although this video is not evidence of that).  He babysits the boys every Monday afternoon while Eldon goes to class.  When the boys are crying, he usually tries singing to them to calm them.  In general, it works pretty well.  Well, the songs that my dad knows best, and likes the most, happen to be from old musicals, so he often sings them to my children.

For this cute video, Zane was being a bit fussy so my Dad starting singing to him.  Xander was across the living room playing and as soon as my Dad starting singing, he promptly crawled over.  He didnt like that my Dad was singing to someone other than him.  In this video, my Dad was trying to look at both, so its not quite as apparent, but every time my Dad would sing toward Zane, Xander leans forward like "Hey Grandpa, sing to me!"   So funny!  Love my Boys!  And I am very grateful for the support and help that my Dad has provided....even if he is torturing them at the same time :P

Zane is 4 Months Old

Zane's 4 Month Stats

Height                  26.25                  95%
Weight                  15.1lbs                 50%

I feel like I say this with every update post, but time goes by way too fast!!! I cant believe how big my baby is getting.  I am grateful for a few of his milestones that make life a little easier and a little smoother, but I just wish that time would slow down just a bit so I didnt feel like I am missing so much! Zane is such a different little baby than he was a few months ago.  He is smiley and happy (when he is getting all the attention he can handle).  He is sitting up (in a bumbo) and likes to see everything.  He is very observant (just like his big brother).  He pays attention to every little sound and has to see.  He is also the wiggliest thing you have ever seen.  We love him very much and are so glad he is part of our family... wiggles and all.

Xander's Birth Story

When the twins were born, I felt very compelled to write their story.  I wanted to ensure that they would be remembered and never forgotten.  I also wanted a way to share their story with future children that may come to our family so they would know of their older brothers who are now our family's guardian angels.

When we were blessed with Xander, I wanted to write his story as well.  The story of his sweet birth and the miracle of how he came to be a part of our family, was something that I felt urged to write.  Unfortunately, emotions were so great, that it took me quite some time to write.

But I am pleased to share with you, his birth story now.....

My sweet Zane

So my Grandma told me that I have not posted enough pictures of Zane.  Unfortunately, it is probably true since Xander is the one with the big events currently, but my sweet Zane is not dying for lack of attention so have no fear!  He wouldnt let us ignore him anyway, he enjoys attention too much!  So here are some sweet pics of my beautiful baby!

Tummy Time

Playing is so much fun, I just get all worn out

Yeah for Pirates!!!

Zanes new trick

Zane has recently become very fascinated with faces.  He pays very close attention and is beginning to try to mimic.  Watch this sweet video, make sure that the volume is up high and pay close attention as Zane tries really hard to copy Daddy.  Just as a side note, he did it like a million times once the camera was off.... of course.

Such a little teaser

Xander has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh and tease and play.  Recently, this has become his new little game.  But let me give you the back story.

So a few months ago, Xander started biting.  He would really only do it to Eldon and only on the shoulder when Eldon was holding him.  For the most part, Eldon would catch him before he would bite, but one time, he bit Eldon really hard and left a bruise for about a week!  So needless to say, Eldon is a little bit touchy when Xander puts his mouth anywhere near his shoulder.  well, Xander did and Eldon jumped pretty high and pulled Xander away, but Xander thought it was pretty funny and a new and very unintentional game began.  Its pretty dang funny..... Enjoy!

Xander gets a big boy room

Now that Xander is a Big Boy, he needed a big boy room.  So he was generous and gave little brother his room and moved into a new room.  Much to Daddy's delight, it was a car room!!!  It was Daddy's idea to do the Shelby cobra stripes.  They are the exact size and placement as on the cars.

For Christmas, Xander got a tv and dvd player.  I know its crazy for a 1 year old to have these things, but he loves movies! Just a few minutes of his favorite movies and his whole temperment changes.

We found this awesome Dayton sign in honor of his place of birth.  He was born just a few minutes from the Daytona raceway.

And we loved this little rug. We are hoping that hours of fun will be had racing cars up and down this rug by these sweet little boys!
