Playing at the Lake

One of my best friends, Jenny and her family invited Eldon and I out to Saguaro Lake for a fun day on the boat. We had a blast out on the water. We got to meet Jenny's new (well, new to us) boyfriend Nate, and give our approval :)
We also got to play on the tubes, swim in the refreshing water, and learn how to wake board. I have tried before but most of my attempts looked like this....
but this time was different! I wasn't able to stay up very long, but I was finally able to stand up and stay up for a bit! Yeah!!
Unfortunately, Eldon wasnt able to participate in too many of the activities, he was trying to take it easy on his wrist so that it keeps healing. It was a beautiful day on the lake, and it was nice to be out of the house, out of the office, and out with friends. Thanks so much Jenny and the Jackson Family! We had a blast and really appreciate you inviting us along!

We woke up and found this.....

A bunch of water in the bathroom! Yep, it was a wonderful site first thing in the morning...well really more of a feel, you couldnt see the water, but as soon as I stepped by the sink in the master bathroom, my foot was soaked in water! We are not sure what really happened, but something went wrong with the pipe in the wall...hence the giant hole, and the carpet got soaked. luckily, it was an apartment, so we dont have to pay for it, and second it never made it past the vanity, so nothing got damaged. The bad part is, that the wall will be open for a while because the wood inside is really wet (and probably will mold) and the bathroom and the master bedroom stink really bad like mold! Hopefully we get a house soon, and then it wont have to be our problem any more!

Another Attempt

I am almost tempted to not even post this just because who knows what will happen....but we are hopeful, so we are making another attempt at buying a house. This will be attempt #5 at putting in an offer. This is another short sale, so it will probably take a while before we find out. We are actually going to continue to look this time until we know whether or not our offer is accepted, so who knows, we may back out for something else, but we think this one is good. It is a cute little one story house in Superstition Springs. It is a really nice neighborhood that is not too far East. We really like the set up of the house and with some TLC, it will be so cute! Wish us luck and send good thoughts our way to finally get a house!

Las Vegas Baby!

The Seals Family had a Family Reunion in Las Vegas! We were there for 3 days and had a lot of fun! It was really nice to see my Aunt and Uncle and my cousins that I haven't seen since my wedding and also to see my grandpa. My dad's side of the family lives in northern California, so growing up we didn't get much chance to see them, so it is always nice when we do. I only wish my other uncle and his family as well as my little bro on a mission could have been there!

We did a little bit of everything. We took some amazing family mafia pics (since my family descends from the Italian Mob...we thought it was only fitting :P ).

(i love my grandpa in this pic!)

We got to see the lights of the strip, and especially the water show in front of the Bellagio. We went to a sweet car show. Eldon really enjoyed seeing all the rich cars! Poor guy...he wanted like almost everyone in the whole show! We got to see my friend Shelly and her husband Ryan that I havent seen since our wedding! We Gambled and lost!

We went to the Phantom of the Opera-which was very cool!

We went to Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum and got some awesome celebrity pics

and spent some quality time with our family. It was alot of fun, alot of chaos and I'm glad we were able to go! Thank you so much Grandpa for helping us be able to go. We couldn't have done it with you! We sure love you! Enjoy the pics Everyone!

Fathers Day

Sorry this post is late, but again....we've been busy! I just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to the guys in my life. First is my father. I love my Dad very much and I am grateful he is my Dad. I get a lot of my talents, features and even my temperament from him. For better or for worse, I take after my Dad alot. He has always tried to be a good Dad and be there for us kids. I dont ever remember a swim meet, a dance recital, or gymnastics show that he was not a part of. I dont know of many kids that can say that! He worked very hard to provide for our family and we never went without! Thanks for being a great Dad! I love you!

I also inherited another great Dad when I married Eldon. RH is a wonderful Father-in-law and has always made me feel like a part of the family rather than an in-law. He is very sweet and incredibly helpful, and best of all....he raised an amazing son to be my eternal companion, and for that I will be forever grateful!

And lastly, I wanted to say Happy Father's Day to the future Father of my children. We are not parents yet, but he is amazing with children and is loved by all his nieces and nephews and I cant wait for him to be Dad! He is going to be amazing. I absolutely fell in love with him for this quality amongst the many others. It was a scene similar to this picture that gave me my answer about him. He was holding our nephew Issac and Issac wouldnt stop crying. He would only go to Eldon and so Eldon had to hold him for like 2 hours! But they both loved every minute and I thought he looked so Hot holding a baby and wanted him to have mine! Some day! I love you baby! Thank you for being so amazing!

In the Wild

So, not sure how many of you know where I work, but I run a sports complex in North East Phoenix. It is a pretty big sports complex. We currently have 10 soccer field and 4 baseball fields and are building 8 more soccer fields. The land that the property sits on was given to the City from Federal Land (or something like that). Because of this partnership, We have the desert all around us to protect some natural land and natural wildlife. The other day I was chatting with my boss about something and she stopped right in the middle of her sentence and said "what the heck". I figured that someone was doing something weird on the fields because that happens a lot. People think we are a public park and so we get some interesting activities out there...but that was not the case. Its really hard to see in the picture( its the little brown dot in the middle of the fields), but a Coyote was taking a leisurely stroll across the soccer fields. It was crazy. I couldn't get my camera to zoom in any more and i definitely was not going any closer! I just thought it was interesting, but I guess just another day at the office in the wild!

We've been busy

This is a bit of a catch up post, so sorry its a late entry, but....We've been busy! We made another trip up to Snowflake! We love being up there, we (especially me) just dont enjoy the drive! We went up to be a part of Mason Martin's (Bobby and Becca's new little boy) baby blessing. It was so good to see them and to be there for the sweet blessing. We also got to see their new house that they are building. It is going to be so nice for them once it is finished in a few weeks!
While we were there, it was also Tricia's (Eldon's mom) birthday. Pics will have to come later, because the pics on my camera didnt turn out. We we got to hang out as a family all day and then took Mom out to dinner. It was really nice. It was also a lot of fun to surprise her with her gift. She was recently called with RH to be a temple worker. RH didnt have the right temple clothes to be a worker, so he needed to buy new ones, but Tricia already had what she needed....although it wasnt new. She is too self-less and too thrifty to spend a lot of money on herself even to buy new temple clothes so we got together with several other siblings and gave her a gift certificate so she could purchase new temple clothes. Her reaction was soooo cute! She went right to the website and even had clothes already picked out! I hope she like it! Happy Birthday Mom! We are glad we got to be there with you for your birthday!

The pins are out

Just an update for you all. Eldon had his (hopefully) final surgery on his wrist today. He got the pins taken out. The screw is permanent, but the 3 pins were removed. He did very well and the Doctor said the pins came out nicely. Eldon is doing good, but still in some pain, which means he is flyin high on pain killers :P Im sure he is just happy to not have the pins trying to poke out of his wrist anymore! That has been the worst part for him. Hopefully, if all goes according to plan without further complications, he should be able to regain full motion and strength in his hand, wrist, and arm and be back at work in about a month or so. Everything so far has gone much better than expected (especially considering the drastic damage he did to his wrist). Hopefully his healing will continue like it has been! I will be so happy when he can give me a full on hug again, with both arms wrapped tight!

Day on the Lake

Day on the Lake is an annual event that provides opportunities for people with physical disabilities to participate in water activities that normally would not be able to do. This event has been going on for years and I have helped to plan various pieces of it for different agencies I have worked for several times, but have never been able to participate. This year I was able to go. The City of Phoenix went and provided adaptive kayaking. It is always a really neat experience when you can help someone do something that they never thought possible. one gentlemen had only ever been in a pool once in his life prior to this event. He was a quadriplegic whose injury was incredibly high on the spinal cord, so he could barely move anything below his neck. We were able to get him into a kayak and adapt the paddle so he could contribute a little bit to the rowing. It took more than 6 people to get him in the kayak, a "buddy" staff member to do most of the paddling, 2 life jackets in case they tipped, and alot of padding around his joints, but he was able to kayak for about 20 minutes! We limited his time so he wouldn't get any sores or injuries from rubbing on the boat, and we had to sink the kayak to get him out....but for him, it was probably like one of those master card commercials that add up all it took to do something, and say....priceless! I hope it was! Anyways, besides helping people discover that there is usually always a way, and "cant" is a bad word, I got to get paid to kayak. There are definite perks to my line of work!
